Last updated: 3 July 2026
Best Bike Advice respects your privacy and handles your personal data with care. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Tjojs Technologies BV, trading as Best Bike Advice, registered at J. Manger Catslaan 3, 3971 JM Driebergen, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce no. 73874132. For privacy questions you can reach us at info@bestbikeadvice.com.
2. What data do we collect?
To deliver the bike fit, we process the data you provide yourself: body measurements, bike measurements, cycling goals and any complaints.
We also process your name and email address to create your account, send the report and communicate about your order.
We collect limited technical data (IP address, browser, pages visited) via cookies and analytics. See our cookie policy.
If you use the training features, we also process: health data (weight, height, functional threshold power, maximum heart rate, threshold heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep duration, recovery indicators), training data (activity duration and distance, heart rate, power, cadence, elevation, GPS route, perceived exertion, workout completion) and data provided via connected third-party services and devices that you choose to link to your account.
3. What do we use this data for?
We use your data to produce and deliver the bike fit report, to manage your account, to answer your questions, to improve the website and, only with your consent, to send you marketing emails.
If you use the training features, we also use this data to provide training analysis and personalised training plans, to provide recovery and readiness insights, and to deliver structured workouts to your connected devices.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data based on the performance of the contract (the bike fit service), a legal obligation (e.g. tax retention), our legitimate interest (improving the service) or your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies).
Health and training data provided through connected services is processed based on your consent or the performance of our agreement with you. You can withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting the relevant service in your account settings.
5. Retention period
Order data is retained as long as legally required (in the Netherlands at least seven years for accounting). Account and bike fit data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
Training and health data is retained for as long as your account is active, so we can provide trend analysis over time. Upon deletion of your account, or upon disconnecting a linked service, the associated raw data is removed in line with our general deletion policy.
7. Transfers outside the EU
If data is processed outside the European Economic Area, this only happens with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your rights
You can easily delete your personal data yourself via the 'Delete my data' function in the app at app.bestbikeadvice.com/en/cookies. You will receive a confirmation email with a link that is valid for 24 hours; your data will only be deleted after you click that link. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access control and regular backups.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Important changes will be announced via the website or by email. The most recent version is always available on this page.
